Exploring Almost Forgotten Gravesites in the Great State of Ohio

Dedicated to cemetery preservation in the great state of Ohio

"A cemetery may be considered as abandoned when all or practically all of the bodies have been Removed therefrom and no bodies have been buried therein for a great many years, and the cemetery has been so long neglected as entirely to lose its identity as such, and is no longer known, recognized and respected by the public as a cemetery. 1953 OAG 2978."

Posting an Alert if You Visit Perry Township in Fayette County, Ohio -- Cemeteries Included!

I just learned of this news.

I thought I'd pass this information along from Perry Township, Fayette County, Ohio trustee, Mr. Sam Bowers.

Perry Township's cemeteries include Walnut Creek, Cochran, Sugar Grove Methodist Cemetery, and Sheep Pen which straddles the Highland County line.
"Perry Township has received several complains about coyotes in the area. After the county wide trustee meeting, ODONR Office John Coffman stated he sees more coyote than deer in the county. Facts are 35% of all fawns are taken by coyotes. Coyotes can run up to 40 mph and feast on small dogs, cats, sometimes sheep or goats and newborn calves. They will eat your garbage and cow patties to survive. If you have had an experience or problem with coyotes please send me a message. I would like to know information like, when the last time you saw one was, and how often you see them."
Thanks Sam Bowers
