"A cemetery may be considered as abandoned when all or practically all of the bodies have been removed therefrom and no
bodies have been buried therein for a great many years, and the cemetery has been so long neglected as entirely to lose its identity
as such, and is no longer known, recognized and respected by the public as a cemetery. 1953 OAG 2978."

Spotlighting the Virtual Cemetery of "Madison Truro Gravestones Found Buried" by Brent Nimmo

The Madison Truro Cemetery in Franklin County, Ohio is listed on "Find A Grave."  It is showing  97 interments.

This fact does not sound like anything out of the ordinary except when you consider that in reality this 'official listing' reveals only half the cemetery's true story.

The rest of the story is that Brent Nimmo has created a "virtual cemetery" entitled:  "Madison Truro Stones Found Buried."

~~~~~~
To date, Brent has uncovered 33 grave markers that have sunken out of sight at Madison Truro Cemetery.
I am not sure how many of these 33 grave markers that Brent uncovered are also found listed on the cemetery's main "Find A Grave" page, but it is helpful to know that both lists exist for cross-reference purposes; thanks to his extensive efforts.
Below are the notes that Brent posted on the Madison Truro's main cemetery page:
Cemetery notes and/or description:
"Truro graveyard, for many years one of the best kept and one of the most prominent in the county, has also gone down, and no burials have taken place there in several years. Many of the tombstones have fallen over and some are broken."
Of great interest is Chapter XXIX entitled:  "Graveyards" which begins on page 428.
Brent continues to explore funding opportunities to properly repair and re-set these long covered gravestones and restore respect to these almost forgotten gravesites at Madison Truro Cemetery.
