Exploring Almost Forgotten Gravesites in the Great State of Ohio

Dedicated to cemetery preservation in the great state of Ohio

"A cemetery may be considered as abandoned when all or practically all of the bodies have been Removed therefrom and no bodies have been buried therein for a great many years, and the cemetery has been so long neglected as entirely to lose its identity as such, and is no longer known, recognized and respected by the public as a cemetery. 1953 OAG 2978."

Two More Dean Markers Were Straightened Up Today at the Dean Cemetery

Scott & Venus returned to the Dean Cemetery 9-26-2013:

"Here's some of what we did today.  These are stones of James H. Dean on the left, and Hannah Baird Dean on the right.  Can't seem to determine how James fits in, but Hannah is one of Abraham's daughters in law, married to his son John.  We were able to put James' footstone back in the proper spot.  Hannah's is broken off, and the lower portion is a jigsaw puzzle that we will get to when we can.  At least we have the upper part intact.  It is amazing how much bigger these stones look when they are standing straight!"
