Exploring Almost Forgotten Gravesites in the Great State of Ohio

Dedicated to cemetery preservation in the great state of Ohio

"A cemetery may be considered as abandoned when all or practically all of the bodies have been Removed therefrom and no bodies have been buried therein for a great many years, and the cemetery has been so long neglected as entirely to lose its identity as such, and is no longer known, recognized and respected by the public as a cemetery. 1953 OAG 2978."

Focusing on the Firelands Bicentennial Chapter of the Ohio Society, Sons of the American Revolution (OHSSAR) -- Grave Records for Revolutionary War Veterans Buried in Erie, Huron and Lorain Counties, Ohio

Recently, I enjoyed a pleasant email exchange with Boyd Weber who is the President of the Firelands Bicentennial Chapter of the Ohio Society, Sons of the American Revolution (OHSSAR).

The Firelands Bicentennial Chapter covers the counties of Erie, Huron, and Lorain.

The Chapter's website includes links to "Virtual Cemeteries" created by Boyd that exist on "Find A Grave" for Revolutionary War Veterans interred at various cemeteries located in Erie, Huron, and Lorain Counties.

There are other useful links offered by the chapter so I think you'll enjoy your visit on their website.  You may also wish to explore the possibility of becoming a member if you feel you might qualify!
