Exploring Almost Forgotten Gravesites in the Great State of Ohio

Dedicated to cemetery preservation in the great state of Ohio

"A cemetery may be considered as abandoned when all or practically all of the bodies have been Removed therefrom and no bodies have been buried therein for a great many years, and the cemetery has been so long neglected as entirely to lose its identity as such, and is no longer known, recognized and respected by the public as a cemetery. 1953 OAG 2978."

Are You Using the "Find A Grave" Phone App? If Not, Give It a Try!

Sharing from Michael Anderson who started the Facebook Group "Friends of Sugar Grove Cemetery" for folks who have an interest in preserving the Sugar Grove Cemetery in Wilmington, Ohio.

Michael is also an active member of "Preserving Ohio's Cemeteries" on Facebook. He has shared this information on both sites which is helping a lot of folks learn more about the value of using the "Find A Grave" phone app.:
"I've just learned how to use the new Find A Grave phone app, and it will add the GPS coordinates to the memorial! This will really help pinpoint the location of the grave on a Google Earth map.

Here's the location of my great grandfather's gravestone in Sugar Grove Cemetery in Wilmington that I cleaned and reset today.

Are you and other Find A Grave volunteers using this app?"
