"A cemetery may be considered as abandoned when all or practically all of the bodies have been Removed therefrom and no bodies have been buried therein for a great many years, and the cemetery has been so long neglected as entirely to lose its identity as such, and is no longer known, recognized and respected by the public as a cemetery. 1953 OAG 2978."

Sharing a 1903 News Story about the Butcher Cemetery in North Lewisburg: "Offers Cemetery Lot in Lieu of State Tax"

Sharing this news story I found in my quest to track down if there ever was a deed transferring ownership of the Walnut Grove Cemetery to the Village of North Lewisburg; now more popularly known as the "Butcher Cemetery."

So, working on the probate records of Dr. William H. Wagstaff.

I feel the story is worded in such a way where a person could both chuckle and cry about the whole situation.
