Exploring Almost Forgotten Gravesites in the Great State of Ohio

Dedicated to cemetery preservation in the great state of Ohio

"A cemetery may be considered as abandoned when all or practically all of the bodies have been Removed therefrom and no bodies have been buried therein for a great many years, and the cemetery has been so long neglected as entirely to lose its identity as such, and is no longer known, recognized and respected by the public as a cemetery. 1953 OAG 2978."

Preserve Ohio's Historic Sites through "Preservation Ohio"

Quoting from "Preservation Ohio" -- A Facebook Post of April 22, 2013:

"The Most Endangered List highlights properties of local, regional, or statewide significance which are facing imminent threat. With buildings, these are typically ones which anchor traditional downtowns or neighborhoods. For cemeteries, it could be one which has famous interments, but also one which is threatened by development, or helps to tell the story of a community -- something that takes it out of the "ordinary" condition of similar properties statewide."

"Mail completed application by deadline of April 26."
