Pittsfield, Lorain County, Ohio Blog Regarding Cemetery Restoration Volunteer News

The following information is found on the Pittsfield Township, Lorain County, Ohio Blog in 2009:

04/13/09 - To All Current and Potential Cemetery Restoration Volunteers: As the weather improves and gets warmer, I hope to continue the cemetery restoration project that we started last year. We still have considerable work to do in the East Cemetery, and then we can proceed to the South Cemetery. Last year we scheduled our work sessions for every Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon. This year I would like to also hold some sessions on possibly Saturday morning, or some week day evening. This would allow those of you who work during the day to participate in the project.

Anyone who would like to help us and has a preference as to when they are available, please let me know.

Lakewood Park Cemetery - Rocky River, Cuyahoga County, Ohio Update

Expressing my appreciation to Dawn Bleyle Luehrs and Robert John Luehrs for contacting me with additional information about their Schmitt and Geiger relatives that I had posted on the web site "Findagrave.com" in response to photo requests.

This is one example of how "FAG" - "Findagrave.com" - can work in multiple ways when you are searching for death information of relatives and ancestors. It is my favorite memorial site and it is growing daily!

Below is the information provided by Dawn and Robert:

"Florence Bertha SCHMITT [20 Mar 1889 Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio - 10 Jan 1974 Lakewood, Cuyahoga, Ohio] is my husband Robert John Luehr's great grandmother.

Florence married Harry William GEIGER [9 Oct 1888 Parma, Cuyahoga, Ohio - Feb 1946 Cuyahoga, Ohio].

Florence and Harry's daughter Ruth Marguerite GEIGER married my husband Robert's grandfather Frederick Urban LUEHRS.

Florence and Harry's son, Harry Donald GEIGER [17 Apr 1919 Lakewood, Cuyahoga, Ohio - 6 Apr 1934 Lakewood, Cuyahoga, Ohio] who is interred at Lakewood Park Cemetery with his parents, died at the age of 14 years, 11 months, and 19 days, after being struck by an auto while skating on a public road on 5 Apr 1934."
