"A cemetery may be considered as abandoned when all or practically all of the bodies have been Removed therefrom and no bodies have been buried therein for a great many years, and the cemetery has been so long neglected as entirely to lose its identity as such, and is no longer known, recognized and respected by the public as a cemetery. 1953 OAG 2978."

Gilboa Cemetery - Paint Township - Highland County Ohio

Marianna Morgan, past President of the Southern Ohio Genealogical Society (Chapter of O.G.S.), has completed her research on Gilboa Cemetery which includes obituaries and photographs. She estimates she has compiled information on 500 burials at Gilboa Cemetery.

Updates will be forthcoming regarding her wonderful work researching the Gilboa Cemetery and details on the availability of the information documented.

Gilboa Cemetery can be found on page 289 of the Ohio Genealogical Society's publication: " Ohio Cemeteries - 1803 - 2003". It states for location: "Southwest off TR 319A. Between CR 84A and SR 138. On the bank of Fall Creek." Located west of Greenfield.

The website, "Graveaddiction" also contains some random photographs of the Gilboa Cemetery:
