Exploring Almost Forgotten Gravesites in the Great State of Ohio
Dedicated to cemetery preservation in the great state of Ohio
"A cemetery may be considered as abandoned when all or practically all of the bodies have been Removed therefrom and no bodies have been buried therein for a great many years, and the cemetery has been so long neglected as entirely to lose its identity as such, and is no longer known, recognized and respected by the public as a cemetery. 1953 OAG 2978."

Let's Think Spring! The Spring Meeting of the Ohio Chapter of the Association for Gravestone Studies to be Held in Knox County, Ohio on May 3, 2014
Despite the fact that Winter has kept a strong grip on most parts of Ohio even as March nears its end, we know that April is only a few days away. Surely Spring weather will soon gain control over the winds and usher in much milder temperatures that will prevail.
~~~~~~~~~~~
With this in mind, we look forward to May; specifically Saturday May 3rd -- the date of the 2014 Spring Meeting of the Ohio Chapter of the Association of Gravestone Studies.
Spotlighting a New Blog Listed Here -- "Passion for the Past"
Recently, I've been checking the links to other blogs located on the right-hand side and updating them. I'm keeping those that have recent updates and removing those that have not had updates in several months.
I added a new blog today: "Passion for the Past" in the "Genealogy Blogs of Interest" category.
One particular post from July 10, 2011 caught my eye:
"19th Century Mourning Practices (revised)"
(Click on above title to link to blog post.)
Hope you enjoy reading "Passion for the Past" Blog as much as I do!
